Coastal Vacation Scams Equal Bad Vacations For You

Posted: under Air Travel.
Tags: , , , ,

Coastal vacation scam artists take people’s money with promises of phony vacations. Many of these offers use words like “cheap Hawaiian vacation” to lure travelers.

Most people dream of taking a coastal vacation. They may hope for a cheap Hawaiian vacation package or dream of a coastal vacation resort weekend.

But many coastal vacation scams disguise themselves as legitimate offers. Police report an increase in coastal vacation scams in recent years.

The Internet spawned a new breed of coastal vacation scam artist wanting to cheat honest consumers out of their money. Anyone who types in cheap Hawaiian vacation package into a “Google” search engine will find over one million his.

The Federal Trade Commission reported 3,600 consumers scammed in 2002, amounting to $3.5 million. How can consumers tell the difference between a coastal vacation scam and an honest cheap vacation package?

1. Many people operating coastal vacation scams will ask for a credit card or other financial information early in the conversation. Many of these so-called vacation companies want consumers to give their financial information online for a “cheap Hawaiian vacation.”

The desire by the company to receive financial information before the consumer feel comfortable doing so should indicate a red flag and a possible coastal vacation scam.

Many cases of identity fraud started with coastal vacation scams. Consumers receive their bank or credit card statements and find that in addition to their “cheap Hawaiian vacation,” charges of cash advances and purchases of high-dollar merchandise.

Consumers who fall prey to identity fraud should contact their local law enforcement immediately about the coastal vacation scam.

2. The company operating coastal vacation scams will offer the consumer very little details about the planned trip. The person on the other line, on the phone or on the Internet, will offer constant assurances the hotel in the cheap Hawaiian vacation package features Oceanside views, luxuries rooms and private balconies—very broad descriptions.

The “seller” of the coastal vacation scam may claim they stayed there many times but cannot give specifics.

The company asks the consumer not to contact the hotel or resort directly about the vacation package, another sign of a coastal vacation scam.

If the consumer cannot confirm the reservations with the hotel directly, the consumer should look elsewhere for a cheap Hawaiian vacation. Consumers should get the details and take charge of their coastal vacation and not fall prey to coastal vacation scams.

3. Coastal vacation scam artists use word like “free” or “vacation offer.” Often these so-called “offers” include a daylong presentation before families can use their free tickets–a common coastal vacation scam technique.

If consumers cannot see the islands on their cheap Hawaiian vacation and must sit through lengthy presentations, the vacation may not seem so “cheap.”

4. The Better Business Bureau and other government agencies maintain lists of coastal vacation scams. Smart consumers check these lists and report any contact by these coastal vacation scam artists.

One of the more popular ruses offers a cheap Hawaiian vacation or a cheap family vacation package.

Fear of a coastal vacation scam should not keep consumers from seeking out great vacation deals, like a cheap Hawaiian vacation.

Many companies offer legitimate family vacation packages and an honest travel incentive program that saves families even more money on their vacation costs. Coastal vacation scams should not discourage travelers.

The Difference Between Hotels, Vacation Homes and a Bed and Breakfast

Posted: under Air Travel.
Tags: , , , , ,

When it is time to take the family on vacation, most of us think only about getting a hotel room. Sure, we might also consider a tent campground, a RV or travel trailer, and possibly even a beach condo, but how many of us realize that we have more choices for a place to sleep while on vacation?

To be honest, I am a pretty smart guy and I have been doing the vacation thing, first with my parents and then with my wife and kids, but until a few years ago, I never knew there was such a thing as a bed and breakfast or vacation home rental. I only become aware of these alternate types of vacation accommodations when I was in my early thirties – a decade ago.

The Campground Experience

My dad knew about hotels of course, but he would never consider spending money in such a wasteful manner. Until I was twelve, we only stayed in a tent when we went on vacation. Three years in a row, we got caught out in massive downpours while we were camping. Our tent – although pretty nice – leaked when it rained. Three vacations in a row, we had to pack up and leave in the middle of the night, after we woke to find ourselves in an inch of water inside our tent.

My mother had a great deal of influence over my dad… in a weird kind of way. After three years of ruined vacations, she put her foot down. She told him that we would never spend our vacations in a tent again. She got her way, but not in the way she expected. She won her argument; we never again spent our vacation in a tent. But dad got his way too; we never did spend money on a hotel room, instead, we spent his vacation in our own house. After I was twelve, we never again took a family vacation.

Well, that is almost true. When I was sixteen, dad bought one of those pop-up campers. When I was sixteen, we took a family vacation and stayed in the pop-up camper travel trailer. But wouldn’t you know… it rained and the camper leaked too. So that was the final end of our family vacations.

The Hotel Experience

As an adult, I did not have the same kind of qualms my father had about hotels. When my wife and I went to Las Vegas for our honeymoon, we stayed at the Stratosphere hotel. From our overpriced hotel room, we were able to look out our window and see… the concrete wall at the base of the tower. It was awesome.

After our kids were born, we took two vacations to San Antonio, where we stayed with my wife’s aunt and uncle. But the drive down was pretty lengthy, so we caught hotel rooms in transit. We would catch a hotel room for one night on the way to San Antonio, and we would catch a room on the way home.

We got on well with hotels in our travels, up until we stayed at the Best Western one night. Everything went well, until we went to check out. Imagine our shock and anger, when we realized that the hotel had supplied a PlayStation in our room, and our four- and six-year-old children got up in the middle of the night to play video games. Our $45 hotel room ended up costing us $120!! OMG I was pissed!

The Vacation Rental Experience

I have to say that when I finally discovered vacation home rentals, I was pleased to no end. If I am going to spend $120 per night, you simply cannot beat the vacation rental experience.

Especially when you are doing several nights at your vacation destination, the vacation rental makes a whole lot of sense. If you are yet aware of it, the vacation home rental is exactly what it sounds like. It is a home that you can rent, in the same way that you rent a hotel room, with a major exception. That exception is that the rental has seperate bedrooms for the guests, a full kitchen, a fenced backyard for the kids to play in, sometimes a swimming pool to swim in, and a comfortable living area, frequently with a big screen HDTV in it.

Think about the homes of your friends, and then think about the nicest home that you have been to. A vacation rental is generally even nicer than the homes of all of my friends and family.

Vacation home rental prices vary considerably, depending on location, size and features. But I have managed to rent a number of vacation rentals for as little as $125 per night. What was exceptional about that is that the vacation home rentals had a full kitchen in the house, with a complete set of dishes for cooking and eating. Although we were in some far off destination, we did not have to take every meal at a restaurant. That one advantage more than compensated for the additional cost of renting the vacation home. In the end, we found that our vacation home ended up saving us so much money on food, that we made a profit against what we would have spent on the hotel and restaurant food.

The Bed And Breakfast Experience

The bed and breakfasts (B&B) are an ideal solution for living the good life, but they are not always suited to bringing the kids along on your vacation.

A friend of my wife had told us about a bed and breakfast establishment that she had visited with her husband. She spoke of the experience of having someone cook for you and pamper you to no end. My wife’s friend enjoys the B&B experience so much that her and her husband visit one as often as possible, even if it is just across town.

My wife’s friend had talked up the experience so highly that my wife insisted that we must find a babysitter for our kids for the weekend, so that we could indulge ourselves in the Bed And Breakfast experience. We did, and it was truly enjoyable, relaxing, and memorable.

We checked into the B&B on Friday night and spent the weekend there. Friday night, we slipped into the hot tub for an evening of refreshing bubbles. Along with the hot tub bubbles, we enjoyed champagne bubbles in our drinks.

Saturday morning, we arose early to go horseback riding. Unlike the first time I rode a horse, it was an enjoyable outing. The first time I had rode a horse, the horse would just stop along the beach and snack on grass, ignoring me when I told him to go. After the horse guy came back and got my horse moving on two separate occasions, he finally broke down and switched horses with me. The change of horses did not fix the problem. Somehow, both horses had known that I had never been on a horse before, and they took advantage of me. ;-)

But when my wife and I did the B&B weekend, we rode horses on Saturday morning, and my horse cooperated and did what he was supposed to do… Thank God.

For lunch, we were treated to a special meal – one of the best I have eaten in my life. Then we took a dip in the pool during the afternoon, and then took a short nap. At dinner, we were treated to a candlelight dinner in our room. We returned to the hot tub on Saturday night, then to our room for a night we will never forget.

We spent a leisurely Sunday morning in bed, before checking out in the afternoon. After leaving the B&B, we took a relaxed and slow drive home, and then picked up the children from the babysitters’ house.

It was a nice change from the ordinary.

The Overall Vacation Experience

I have learned a few very important lessons in the last ten years:

* I have learned that we don’t have to do the tent or camper experience and experience the frustration that my parents experienced on a family vacation.

* I have learned that hotels really are not all that they are cracked up to be and can provide many ugly surprises.

* After having taken the chance on a vacation home rental, I learned that if I was going to spend more than a night away from home with the kids, then a vacation rental would make our vacation time much more pleasant and enjoyable.

* After having taken the chance on renting a Bed and Breakfast suite for the weekend, I learned that if my wife and I get a chance to get away from the kids for a weekend, we would be fools to pass on the opportunity to spend our weekend at the B&B of our choice.

In the constant struggle to find holiday accommodations, many people see the best and worst of what can happen while on a family vacation. My parents struggled for years trying to create a memorable family vacation, and they were successful in all the wrong ways.

Unfortunately, vacations more often create abnormally high stress levels, when one is supposed to be trying to relax. As a result, many families frequently prefer to stay home when vacation time comes. But the good news is that there are better options available to anyone looking to experience a family vacation to remember – a vacation that is memorable for all of the right reasons.

It is my hope that you were able to laugh with me as I shared some of my personal vacation experiences. It is also my hope that I have opened your eyes to alternate vacation ideas that you can use to lower the stress and increase the enjoyment of your next family vacation, in the same way that I have been able to do for myself and my family.

Vacation Rentals – 21st Century Family Vacations

Posted: under Air Travel.
Tags: , , , , ,

It seems as if Vacation Rentals are becoming more and more popular. With the rise of the world wide web, you are able to communicate with a vacation rental owner anywhere in the world. Years ago your only option was to visit your local travel agent and book a hotel. There were no vacation rental directories or portals in the past. Now you can surf the web for the perfect vacation rental house. No need for a travel agent as you usually negotiate directly with the owner of the property. Since vacation rentals are slowly becoming the preferred method of booking a vacation, I decided to create an article to give renters some tips about finding the perfect vacation rental.

First, let’s define what we are talking about when we say vacation rental. We call it a vacation rental when a renter rents a property directly from the owner (or representative of the owner). The property usually has it’s own kitchen, living room, bedrooms, etc. They come in many shapes and sizes including condos, single family homes, townhouses, cabins, chalets, and more. Vacation rentals are usually near resort locations and activities such as theme parks, beaches, and skiing. A hotel or motel room is not a vacation rental!

What makes vacation rentals different from hotels? The comfort is the main difference. You have all of the same luxuries that you have at home. Most vacation rentals have kitchens and most of the other amenities that you have at home, plus many have additional amenities such as hot tubs, pool tables, etc. With larger groups there is definitely a cost advantage. A 3-bedroom vacation rental usually hosts more visitors than 3 hotel rooms. Make sure to keep this in mind if you do any cost analysis. Also make sure to include meal savings in your analysis since you may not dine out as often in comparison to a hotel vacation. These items alone could be substantial savings.

Imagine this scenario: Yourself and two other families pay a visit to a popular tourist destination. Your touring of the destination is complete for the day at about 3 pm. From 4pm – 6pm you dine together. It’s now 6pm with still some time remaining in the day. If you have a hotel, what do you plan to do? You can waste all of your money at numerous tourist traps (activities such as spending $3, to try to throw a ball into a bucket or $2 to throw a plastic ring around a bottle). With a vacation rental there is no need for that stuff! You can have family game night sitting in a nice comfortable home or take advatage of all the other amenities your rental has to offer. This is why it is important to learn about the amenities of the rental before you enter into a contract. As stated earlier some have hot tubs, pool tables, movies and many other activities.

Tips for Renters:

1. Bookmark as many “vacation Rental” websites as possible. This way when you are searching for a rental, you have all of the portal sites at your fingertips.

2. Always make sure to find out what items are provided and what is not provided by the owner. For example, in some rentals you may need to supply your own linens. It would be unfortunate to show up with no towels/sheets, etc.

3. Always book early. Many of the popular destinations get filled quickly.

4. Check for references if possible. The exception to this rule is if the owner is just starting out.

5. If you enjoyed your trip, try to negotiate a better price for next year. The owner would probably love to start filling his/her calendar for next year.

6. Make sure you have the owner’s contact information with you while on the trip. If there is an emergency, you may need to call.

7. Read the fine print and make sure to read all fine print on any leases or documentation that you are asked to sign. Also, read any fine print on the vacation rental web listing.

8. If you’re trying to save some money, scroll to the bottom of the list. Many vacation rental portal sites have hundreds of listings. Many times, the listings at the bottom of the list are just as good as those at the beginning. The listings at the bottom don’t get as many page views so you may find some better prices and some owner’s looking to fill a quick vacancy.

9. Make sure you ask any questions you may have before making a reservation. Questions about the amenities, pets, smoking/non smoking, handy capped accessibility, and cribs for children are some questions that come to mind.

10. Lastly, have fun on your vacation and please respect the owner’s property and follow all of his/her rules and regulations. Please remember this is someone’s personal property that you are renting.

Tips for Budgeting a Vacation for the Entire Family

Posted: under Air Travel.
Tags: , , , ,

Vacations can be expensive, and if you are on a limited budget, it may seem impossible to take your family on an enjoyable vacation. There are a number of ways that you can make a great family vacation affordable. These can allow you to treat your family to the vacation that they deserve without having to break the bank to do so. Here are a few ways that you can take a family vacation while staying within your family budget.

One of the most basic tips for planning a vacation is to introduce a vacation fund into your family budget. Even if you only give $10 per week to the fund, you still have $520 at the end of the year. This allows you to slowly accumulate money that would otherwise be unavailable for a vacation. You may choose to supplement the vacation fund with money from income tax returns or other money that would not normally be a part of your weekly income. This provides more opportunities for adding to your vacation fund.

Research your destination and discover the best time for traveling. There may be discounts available if you are flexible about when you would be leaving. This allows you to travel to your destination without paying full price. This can often save you quite a bit of money when you consider how much full admission prices can be for your entire family. Along the same lines, check to see if there are any airlines or hotels running specials that you can take advantage of to save money on your travel and lodging expenses as well.

Another option to help keep your family vacation within the confines of your budget is to choose a vacation destination that is not going to be exceedingly costly. Visiting state parks, beaches, and other public areas can allow you and the family to have fun and enjoy the time spent together without the added costs of amusement parks or other attractions. Be sure to consult both your spouse and your children when trying to come up with vacation ideas so that you know everyone can be excited about the trip.

While on vacation, consider packing sandwiches or supplies for making your own meals instead of stopping for every meal at a restaurant. Preparing your own meals can help you save a lot of money because restaurants become expensive after a while. This also provides your family with extra money for other amusements. If you still insist on eating your meals at the local restaurants, you can use the food you brought with you for light lunches or travel food. This can still help you save quite a bit of money in comparison to the cost of eating out for every meal. An added advantage is that certain foods such as fruits and bread do not go bad while you are away from home; by packing them for your vacation, you can avoid wasting food while you are away.

Depending on the vacation that you want to take, you might find that you do not have enough money to be able to afford everything that you need. Should you have enough room in your family budget to be able to add another monthly payment, you might consider taking out a small personal loan to help pay for your vacation expenses. Before you do this, however, you should make sure that you can afford the loan payment and that you are not going to be overextending your finances by trying to pay it off on time.

Shop around for quotes from different lenders so that you can get the best deal on the money that you borrow and compare the repayment terms carefully to find the loan that best meets your needs. Save this as a last resort in case the vacation you are planning is very important to the family, since borrowing money is a serious responsibility and can lead to major credit problems if you are not able to repay what you borrow. If you can afford to add the loan payment to your monthly budget and are able to repay the loan in a respectable amount of time, it can be perfectly acceptable to borrow a little bit of extra money to help make your family vacation dreams come true.

A vacation is a great time for a family to spend time together. Vacations are possible no matter what your budget is. When you are planning your vacation, try to put a few dollars aside each week. This helps you accumulate money over time that can be used towards you family’s vacation. When you leave for your vacation consider packing sandwiches and other snacks. This can save you money since you do not have to eat at a restaurant for every meal. These tips can help your family plan a much-deserved vacation even on a tight budget.

Arizona Vacation Safety – Stay AWARE to Stay SAFE

Posted: under Air Travel.
Tags: , , , , ,

Arizona Vacation Safety – Stay AWARE to Stay SAFE by Andre D.
Best

Why? To save yourself grief. And pain. ENSURE your Arizona
vacation safety. Learn about safety issues NOT found in the
travel brochures or vacation websites.

You see, when on vacation in Arizona there are a few things that
one should be aware of when visiting here. These are the type of
things that you won’t read about in those slick brochures you
find in the travel agent’s office.

These are the only things that one will learn about by living
here for an extended period of time.

Let’s face it. It’s a real downer to not have a safe vacation.
It’s not fun to spend a night in the local emergency room with
the kids when they get sick from eating some bad local food or
have an accident. Not fun indeed.

But, these vacation safety tips I’m going to share are not about
the infrequent accidents that do happen on vacation. The
vacation safety tips I’ll be sharing here involve things that
are totally preventable.

As long as one is aware of them first.

So, let’s get started with vacation safety tips that’ll help you
have a safer vacation here in Arizona.

1. The first of these vacation safety tips is for you to be
aware of where you go when you’re vacationing in Phoenix.
Phoenix is a big place and like most big cities it has areas of
the city that are not too upscale.

Now, what are you to do about this?

Well, just realize that there are certain places within a big
city like Phoenix that one should be extra careful about
visiting.

If you find yourself in a part of town that has a lot of
run-down houses, properties with garbage strewn around them, and
abandoned cars parked along the streets – then common sense
should tell you that these neighborhoods are not too safe.

Trust that instinct. I’d suggest you find other areas of the
city to visit or drive around.

You see, Phoenix has, in my opinion, a high crime rate.

I moved here from Canada twelve years ago. What truly shocked me
when I moved here was that Phoenix had more murders occur in two
months than where I used to live had in a year. And I lived in,
at the time, the ‘murder capital of Canada’.

So, just do yourself a favor with this vacation safety tip and
stay aware of your surroundings. If it doesn’t look like a good
place to be – it probably isn’t.

Trust your gut and get out of there.

2. The second of these vacation safety tips involves somewhat of
a local health issue. I’ll explain…

The entire metropolitan Phoenix area is located within a large
valley. It’s surrounded by mountains and mountain ranges. And
within this valley is a certain type of ‘bug’ that lives in the
soil.

Actually, this bug issue is similar to most other country’s bugs
(e.g. Canada’s Beaver Fever bug, Mexico’s ‘don’t drink the
water’ type bug) because it’s a bug indigenous to Arizona.

And what does this bug do? It wreaks havoc on a persons health
when a vacationing visitor is infected with it. In our case,
this bug causes what is known as Valley Fever.

And how does one get infected with Valley Fever? By breathing in
the microscopic spores that make up this nasty bacteria.

And what does this bacteria do to a person when breathed in?
Well, it can cause flu-like symptoms that grow all the way up to
pneumonia, internal bleeding, and very, very rarely… death
(gulp).

Now, I’m NOT trying to scare you. So don’t go cancelling your
vacation plans to Phoenix…

….Because we need your sales tax revenues.

You see, this Valley Fever bug usually only becomes a problem
when a person who hasn’t had Valley Fever comes in contact with
it.

And a person comes in contact with it by breathing the bug in.

And the bug is found in soils that are not old and dried out,
but rather soils that are newly disturbed.

So, how can you protect yourself with regards to this vacation
safety tip? Easy.

Do all you can to stay away from soil disturbing activities.

* Like to visit new construction sites on your vacations? *
Like to do local gardening? * Like to take up archaeology as a
hobby when you’re on vacation?

One word of advice… DON’T.

Essentially, don’t go digging around places or near digging
activities that you shouldn’t be around. At least not while on
vacation here in Phoenix.

I know, I know, why would you go on one of your southwest
vacations in Arizona just to dig in the soil, right? Silly me.

Well, just so you know. I got Valley Fever the first year I
moved here. It progressed on to walking pneumonia and left scars
on my lungs. I was lucky that that’s all that happened to me.

And what was I doing to be exposed to the bug? Just some simple
landscaping in my desert landscaped yard.

See? It doesn’t take much.

So, just do your vacation planning while keeping this vacation
safety tip in mind. Let’s not have you getting sick on us. Okay?

3. The last of these vacation safety tips applies to most of
Arizona. This one is about bugs too. But this is about a
different type of bug.

The real thing…

Scorpions and Black Widows.

Why is this one of our vacation safety tips? Because these
little critters can be a nasty safety issue when you vacation
here and get bitten by one of them.

You see, these two bugs are extremely common here in the state.
Not quite as common as cockroaches, but almost. Why? Because
it’s a desert here and they’re desert creatures.

They like the heat and they like dark cozy places. So, when you
vacation Arizona just be aware that these little critters do
like to live in places that the kids may go probing around in.
Don’t let them do that.

Keep probing hands away from dark crevices both inside and
outside the house, rental, villa, hotel or apartment.

And if someone does get bit, err on the side of caution and call
the local poison control center ASAP and ask for help.

Oh, and by the way, unlike the Hollywood horror movie
depictions, these bugs are NOT half the size of a horse. They’re
SMALL. Black widows are maybe half an inch long. And scorpions
get ‘as big as’ two inches. But… scorpions are FAST. And both
can HURT you big time.

So, please ensure vacation safety for your family. Stay away
from places these critters habitate. And when you get up in the
dark in the middle of the night to get a drink of water – wear
slippers. Just in case.

So, to sum up…

Don’t get paranoid about these vacation safety tips.

Go vacation.

Have fun. Just keep your eyes open to possible vacation safety
concerns. Simple, right?.

Anyway, I hope these vacation safety tips prove helpful to you.
Do have a safe trip here to Arizona. Just improve your vacation
safety by ensuring you remember these vacation safety tips I’ve
shared with you.

Good luck.

How to Find Great Vacation Deals

Posted: under Air Travel.

Deciding that you want to go on a vacation is all too easy. Actually booking the vacation and paying for it, however, is much more difficult. Vacation deals exist to help those who are looking for a cheap vacation to be able to afford to spend some time evading the real world. But how can you find vacation deals? Many people are not sure how they can find and use great vacation deals. Here are a few tips to help you to find vacation deals that will save you tons of money.

Tip #1: Book Sooner Rather Than Later

If you are going to go on vacation, you will get better vacation deals if you book sooner rather than later. By booking later, you are giving the hotel very little notice, which means that you will have to pay full price. Booking earlier lets them know that they will have your room booked, and they will know that they will have business. In order to thank you, they will often offer vacation deals that you may not have seen before. Whenever possible, book your vacation the soonest that you can.

Tip #2: Talk to a Travel Agent

In the day and age of electronics, many people are shying away from real travel agents to start booking their own vacations online using an online travel site. While these can sometimes get you great vacation deals, many people find that they have more trouble booking an online vacation than they would if they had gone to a travel agents.  Travel agents make it in the business because they have connections that the average person does not have. Travel agents can often get you vacation deals that the average person would not be able to find.

Tip #3: Nepotism is Good

Do you know someone in the state or country that you are planning on visiting? If you do, there is always a chance that the person you know may be able to help you to get a great vacation deal. People who live in the area know the best places to stay, and many have connections that can get you a good deal on a room or on a vehicle.

Tip #4: Be Flexible

You want to start your vacation on a Friday or Saturday and end it on a Saturday or Sunday. So does everyone else. These are the most popular times to start and end vacations, and booking a vacation during that time means that you likely won’t be able to find any vacation deals. Instead, try booking your vacation during the slower times, like on a Tuesday or a Thursday. Also, try booking your plane flight during the late night or the very early morning, as these will help you to save money as well. You can find vacation deals in a number of places, especially if you learn to look outside of the average, everyday vacation itinerary and learn to look to solutions that you may not have thought of before.

What To Consider When Buying A Maui Vacation Package

Each year, millions of travelers make their vacation reservations by purchasing a vacation package. If you are interested in planning a Hawaii vacation, particularly a Maui vacation, you may be interested in purchasing a Maui vacation package. Maui vacation packages are not only a great way to save money, but they are also a great way to reduce the amount of time that it takes to book a vacation. As nice as vacation packages are, there are a number of important factors that you need to take into consideration when buying one.

One of the reasons why vacation packages come so highly recommended is due to their costs. As you likely already know, vacation packages come in a number of different formats, all with different costs. Despite the fact that different vacation packages tend to include different things, such as overnight accommodations and such, many travelers end up saving money on their trip. One of the reasons for that is because vacation packages, including Maui vacation packages, tend to reward customers for making all of their reservations at once. That is why some of the larger vacation packages, the ones that include airfare, overnight accommodations, and car rentals, tend to have the largest discounts.

Although it is possible to save money with a Maui vacation package, there are cases where you may end up loosing money. That is why it is wise to know exactly how much money you are saving. There are some online travel websites that will outline your savings for you, but others will not. For instance, if you saved fifty dollars on a car rental, you should be notified of the savings. If you are not notified, you will want to do a little bit of research. That research entails estimating the overall cost of your vacation package. You can do this by determining how much you would have to pay for airfare, hotel accommodations, and a car rental separately. Totaling up the results and comparing it to the cost of a Maui vacation package is an easy way to determine whether or not you will really be saving money

In addition to the cost of a Maui vacation package, it is also important to take what is included in the package into consideration. As previously mentioned, Maui vacation packages often include airline reservations, overnight accommodations, as well as car rentals. It is also possible to purchase Maui vacation packages that include more or less. Before agreeing to purchase a Maui vacation package, it is important to make sure that you will use everything that is included. For instance, if you would like to stay at a Maui vacation rental, you are advised against purchasing a vacation package that includes hotel accommodations and so on. Purchasing a vacation package that includes accommodations or services that you will not use will only end up being a waste of your money.

You will also want to take any rules or restrictions into consideration, before purchasing a Maui vacation package. While a large number of Maui vacation packages are restriction free, there are some that come with a large number of rules and restrictions. For instance, if you purchase a vacation package that includes a guided boat tour, that tour may only be available to you on a specific date and time. The same can be said for other scheduled events and activities, even car rentals. Vacation package rules and restrictions, although they are quite uncommon, can put a damper of your Hawaii vacation. That is why it is important that you determine, ahead of time, whether or not they exist.

By keeping the above mentioned points in mind, you should be able to find a Maui vacation package that is designed to do what it is supposed to do, save you money. It will only take a few minutes to fully review the Maui vacation package of your choice, but the benefits may, literally, last a lifetime.
