Garden Reception celebrating the Romania - US Strategic Partnership MAY 5th Washington DC

The Embassy of Romania to the United States of America has the honor to invite you to a reception celebrating the enduring and dynamic partnership between Romania and the United States—one that continues to evolve as a pillar of transatlantic economic security, innovation, and strategic resilience.

As one of the United States’ most committed and vocal allies on NATO’s Eastern Flank and within the European Union, Romania plays an increasingly consequential role in advancing shared priorities across security, economic development, and technological leadership. Our Strategic Partnership is no longer defined solely by its political and defense dimensions, but is rapidly expanding into a comprehensive framework for collaboration in critical sectors that will shape the future of both our economies.

This event will convene senior government representatives from Romania and the United States—at both federal and state levels—alongside leading executives from major American and Romanian companies that will be present in DC, investors, and innovators and friends of Romania from US States. It will provide a platform to deepen dialogue and catalyze new partnerships in areas of strategic importance, including:

Energy – strengthening cooperation on energy security, diversification, and clean energy transition, with Romania serving as a key regional hub in Southeast Europe;
Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies – leveraging Romania’s highly skilled workforce and growing tech ecosystem to support joint innovation, research, and deployment of next-generation solutions;
Technology and Digital Infrastructure – expanding collaboration in cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and digital transformation, enhancing resilience across critical systems;
Infrastructure and Connectivity – advancing major projects that improve regional mobility, logistics, and economic integration, reinforcing Romania’s role as a gateway between Europe, the Black Sea region, and beyond;
Defense and Strategic Industries – building on robust defense cooperation to develop industrial capabilities, supply chains, and joint production that enhance collective security.

At a time marked by geopolitical uncertainty, supply chain reconfiguration, and rapid technological change, Romania offers a unique combination of strategic geography, Euro-Atlantic alignment, and economic potential. The strengthening of Romania–U.S. cooperation in these domains is not only mutually beneficial, but essential to shaping a resilient and forward-looking transatlantic economic architecture. Together with us we will have the Moonshot X team and companies and Romanian Companies that attend SelectUSA.

This reception aims to foster precisely this type of engagement—bringing together decision-makers and stakeholders committed to translating strategic alignment into concrete projects, investments, and long-term partnerships.

The reception will take place on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the Residence of the Ambassador of Romania (3003 Massachusetts Avenue N.W., Washington, D.C. 20008).
